Adnan Akmal and Robin Peterson fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct

Pakistan’s Adnan Akmal and Robin Peterson of South Africa have been fined 50 per cent of their match fees after pleading guilty to a Level 2 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the fourth day’s play in the first Test in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

The two players were found to have breached Article 2.2.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “inappropriate and deliberate physical contact between Players in the course of play during an International Match”.

The charges had been laid by the on-field umpires Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker, as well as third umpire Ian Gould and fourth umpire Shozab Raza.

The incident happened when Adnan, while trying to pick up the bail, used his shoulder and body to push Peterson, who reacted by pushing the Pakistan wicketkeeper.

Both players pleaded guilty to the charge and as such, under the provisions of the code, the matter was determined by David Boon of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and so there was no requirement for a full hearing.

Explaining his decision, Mr Boon said: “Deliberate physical contact is an action that does not belong in our game and will in no way be condoned in any situation.”

All Level 2 breaches carry a minimum penalty of a minimum fine of 50 per cent of applicable Match Fee and/or up to two (2) Suspension Points.

Eddie Guerrero returns after eight years of “playing possum”

Eddie Guerrero returns after eight years of “playing possum”

Popular professional wrestler Eddie Guerrero, widely believed to have passed away in 2005, re-emerged this week to reveal that he has cunningly been “playing possum” all along.
“Viva la Raza!” Guerrero proclaimed at a press conference this morning, looking a little older but still in fantastic shape and endearingly mischievous.
“I told you I always lie, cheat and steal!”
Guerrero admits he “might have oversold the whole not-being-alive thing,” but that it was worth it just to see the looks on people’s faces when he returned.
“Vintage Guerrero!” exclaimed commentator Michael Cole.
The former WWE champion announced his intention to return to the ring at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, where he intends to attack fellow Mexican Alberto Del Rio for kissing his wife, Vickie, and for general gimmick infringement.
Kayfabe News sincerely wishes this story would come true.
